The McNROE Story
McNROE’s history is a story of how passion and perseverance are key aspects in making anyone’s dreams come true. For N.K.Daga, the journey of establishing a brand from a small town in Orissa, back in 1996, and large enough to be able to stand up against an MNC, was almost unimaginable for everyone except him. This journey has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride.
Initially a distributor for a variety of leading FMCG companies of that time, N.K.Daga started out of his maternal home in Orissa. Being a believer of hard work, he would take care of everything, right from from odd jobs, transporting goods on his own cycle, to handling all business dealings. This gave him the experience and understanding necessary to start a comprehensive brand next, which was always his goal. Steadily he ventured into the field of cosmetics and post 1997 is when the brand went big. He created a product named Heaven’s Garden, which went on to have a 13% market share in the Gangetic belt, even with competition from the likes of Unilever and Emami. Secret Temptation as a brand started operations in 2004, with a lot of creative directors this time around.
With the best hoarding campaigns possible at that time and the tagline, “Hasoongi zaroor par phasoongi nahi”, the product clicked and how! But even this accomplishment didn’t quench his thirst and that is when he ventured on to the male grooming category with Wildstone. The brief given was to be the most spoken about brand even if that resulted in the office being torn down! Currently, they’re amongst the largest deodorant brands in India. With three fully functioning brands, offices all over India, the brand has about 1200 odd distributors and the family is currently 110 people strong.

McNROE Consumer Products Private Limited is a Kolkata based FMCG firm that operates under the personal care category. Founded in 1993, in Orissa, the founder, Mr. N. K Daga had a vision to manufacture personal care products that added a personal touch to the Indian consumer segment.
Over the years, the company has not only made a strong presence in East India, but has also spread its wings across the country. Mr. Daga’s belief to “Think Global, Act Local”, has taken McNROE to become a leading consumer brand in India.

He has been a pioneer in leading the company to thrive and expand the operations. He has also made significant contributions in establishing a strong and rigorous corporate governance process, operational excellence, employee engagement and culture in the organization. On the belief of "Think Global, Act Local", he has been a great initiator to take Mcnroe from a single brand portfolio with "Heaven’s Garden", to an impressive bouquet consisting of 'Wildstone’, and 'Secret Temptation' for the consumers.
